Hiya. There’s me in all my fuzzy wuzzy iphone 5 selfie in the mirror glory. And why yes, that is a TARDIS Starry Night phone case. All pics in future WIWW will be snapped on an actual camera, fyi.
One of the first blogs I ever subscribed to(bee tee dubbers, you can subscribe to Wonderishmama by RSS or by email right over there –>. Do it. You’re pretty and I love you.) was Musings of a Housewife. Jo-Lynn did a weekly What I Wore Wednesday post(carnival hosted by the super dee duper cute Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy)and I found her cool 40ish mom on the go style inspiring. She writes about fashion and beauty, meal planning and healthy food. She’s basically what I hope to be when I grow up(read: in my next life).
I’m more of the slovenly-attired kind of girl(check my Instafeed today for a baseline pic). Comfort, relative cleanliness and within reach are my general criteria for choosing outfits. But I own a few cute basics and I’d like to held accountable to reach a little further in my closet and put them on at least once a week. These pictures are actually from a few weeks ago, but it was a Wednesday so it totally counts.
You’ll note the utter lack of makeup. This is the standard in my house. If I do put on makeup I channel Iggy Azalea and let you know from LA to Tokyo. Also on Insta. It’s a whole thing. Totally exhausting. Which is probs why I rarely wear makeup to begin with. Vicious. Circle.
Accessories are not often a part of my daily life. But when I reach for a necklace, there’s a damn fine chance I’m reaching for this one. Which the hus loves because he bought it for me. Kudos to youdos, dude. It’s chic and simple and the perfect length for anything with a higher neckline.
I’ve worn glasses since age eight and contacts since age 12. I have always been more partial to contacts, but I am currently loving my glasses. Perhaps because I can see out of them since prior to these the last update to the scrip was when I was still living in New York. And I left in 2005. Holy cats, I need New York. The glasses are also dope because at age 44 I finally went bi. Which goes nicely with my crotchety, get offa my lawn attitude. It also means I can read and see people and signs and UFO’s(they’re out there, people) all in one sassy little frame.
I’m not much of a shoe girl. I mean, shoes are cool and I prefer them to a foot full of prickers, stickers and broken glass. Also to Ebola. And I like them to be cute. And comfortable and flat. Ish. And then I like to wear them until they fall apart. My hus has a far more disparate use of shoe styles than I do. He actually also bought these boots for me so he gets big ups for a large portion of this outfit. Holla.
I finally wised up last year to the fact that I live in Oregon, which suffers from the gray and rainys for at least half of the year. The acceptance of that fact made the purchase of raingear a wise decision. It only took me eight years to acclimate to the local weather. At this pace I will probably be an adult at some point. In my next life for sure.
What did you wear this Wednesday? Check out the hot style the cool chicks are wearing on WIWW today.
